Eula Mae 'Sparkie' Butler, 88 of El Dorado, AR; died on Monday, January 8, 2018 at her home in El Dorado.

Born on February 1, 1929 in Lawson, AR; Sparkie was the daughter of William Nathaniel Sparks and Sisley Fitzgerald Sparks. A long-time resident of Smackover and member of the First Baptist Church Smackover. Sparkie moved to El Dorado in 1976 to be closer to her family after the death of her husband, David. She worked for Garrett's Furniture for 26 years and later Burbank Furniture. She was still a part time employee...

Eula Mae 'Sparkie' Butler, 88 of El Dorado, AR; died on Monday, January 8, 2018 at her home in El Dorado.

Born on February 1, 1929 in Lawson, AR; Sparkie was the daughter of William Nathaniel Sparks and Sisley Fitzgerald Sparks. A long-time resident of Smackover and member of the First Baptist Church Smackover. Sparkie moved to El Dorado in 1976 to be closer to her family after the death of her husband, David. She worked for Garrett's Furniture for 26 years and later Burbank Furniture. She was still a part time employee at the time of her death. She loved her "Burbank Family." A loyal Razorback fan, Sparkie was always athletic playing basketball for her High School and later enjoying league bowling in El Dorado.

Sparkie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Vergie Lee Brown and Earline Rhodes, a son Timothy Butler and her husband of 27 years David Boyce Butler.

Survivors are a son James Butler and grandchildren David and Angela Butler; several nieces and nephews Earline Kimbrough, Lurline Combs, Dona Breeding, Earnest Rhodes, Billy Rhodes, James Rhodes along with her niece, who was like a daughter, Cathey (John) Cowger and their children, Sparkie's "other grandchildren", Amber (Ben) Murphy and Alan Cowger.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm in the Chapel of Young's Funeral Directors. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Rev. Carley Davis officiating. Interment will be at Smackover Cemetery.
